Home sales in our area as other places in the country have remained steady. We were familar with steel and it was very easy for us to work with. Hand framing with red-iron sructural steel however, was more expensive than wood framing and when it came right down to the end, most customers did not want to spend the extra money. No one could argue with the benefits, or even present any other arguments as to why any other system was better. "Home builders" are plentiful in our area and someone is always willing to do it for less, especially when you can cut back on quality.
A Better Way
We began searching for new ways of building with steel and found a system that allowed us to roll form our own studs and trusses out of coil steel, software that allowed for custom designs and easy changes and a local market that was receptive to the idea.
And do it all for the same cost as conventional construction.
